Barthel Index
Basic activities of daily living
Evaluates the level of functional independence in 10 basic activities of daily living. Widely used in geriatrics, neurology and rehabilitation.
NIHSS Scale
Acute ischemic stroke severity
Quantifies neurological deficit in acute ischemic stroke through 15 items. Guides treatment selection and predicts functional prognosis.
Glasgow Coma Scale
Level of consciousness assessment
Quantifies level of consciousness through 3 items (eye opening, verbal and motor response). Classifies coma as mild (13–15), moderate (9–12) and severe (3–8).
Modified Fisher Scale
Subarachnoid hemorrhage — vasospasm risk
Classifies subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) on cranial CT according to hemorrhagic distribution, clot formation and presence of intraventricular bleeding. Predicts risk of cerebral vasospasm and delayed ischemia.
Marshall Scale
Radiological TBI classification
Classifies traumatic brain injury (TBI) according to findings on cranial CT, relating the injury pattern to risk of intracranial hypertension and associated morbidity and mortality. Scale created in 1991.
